Word on the street was that AutoCon was th show to conclude the 2011 season show circuit-and this event did not disappoint. There were more than 4,000 attendees, an abundance of vendors, and a fleet of food trucks. The ambiance was very surreal, and unlike some other shows, it had an element of purpose to it.

Picture this: some of the nicest DTM and JDM you’ve seen coupled with a hot air balloon over the El Toro Airfield as a backdrop. That certainly makes for quite a surreal scene. This was HH’s first time at AutoCon, and we had no idea what to expect. We will definitely be back. “Cali killed it again.  While the rest of the U.S. hibernated for December, the greater SoCal region rose up for one of the biggest shows in 2011- Automotive Connection, or AutoCon for short.  We thought it would be some dinky gathering since the date was so close to Christmas, but we ended up running out of time and sunlight at the end of the day.  500+ strong rolled into El Toro Field including drift, stanced and street cars.  Interestingly, we noticed AutoCon was a show more for the enthusiasts without all the gimmicks and fancy performances.  It had a grassroots feelings, was very laidback and we enjoyed spending our Saturday afternoon with some of the West Coast’s finest.”  -Sam Du | Super Street Magazine (April 2012)
